Recently, the training of newly recruited staff in our school has successfully completed. The training started on August 18, and has carried out systematic training courses around teachers' morality, school history, campus culture, rules and regulations, teaching methods and skills. The training content is rich and diverse,which can help the newly recruited staff know the situation of the school, adapt to the post, achieve the role conversion, and establish correct education and teaching philosophy as soon as possible.
At the opening ceremony on 18 August, the Executive President Guo Biao delivered a welcoming speech. He introduced to the new teachers the story of fighting COVID-19 in the past few months in HXUT, hoping that the new teachers should take the work as a cause, understand the "advanced kindness", boldly innovate, be people-oriented, and carry forward the aspiration and tradition of "creating the world for the sake of the heaven and earth, for the sake of people, for the sake of the sages, and for the sake of world peace".
Ding Dezhi, Secretary of the Party Committee, gave the first lesson to all new teachers with the topic of “Taking teachers’ morality and ethics as the first criterion to evaluate teachers’ quality”. He highlighted four points: "improving ideological awareness, strengthening system construction, deepening value leading and improving evaluation and assessment". It was hoped that teachers should have the spirit of caring for others like gardeners, the spirit of taking the school as home, the spirit of dedicating like candles, the spirit of climbing and progressing, and the spirit of the craftsman.
Ding Chengzhong, the Vice President, told the teachers about the school’s history of 16 years, introduced the basic information of the organizational structure, discipline construction, teaching staff, talent training, scientific research and innovation, and hoped that teachers would cherish the opportunity and study hard to contribute to teaching, scientific research, social services and cultural inheritance.
In the next two weeks, the President Assistant, Director of the Party and Government Office, Hu Shuibing; the President Assistant,Director of the Teaching Affairs Department, Li Cai; the President Assistant, Director of Human Resources, Liu Meiyun; and Deputy Director of Finance and Assets Department,Zhu Xiaojun, delivered special training lectures on students’ cognitive behavior model and responding strategies, basic teaching norms and standards, the school’s talent training programs, organizational structure, current status of teaching staff, teachers' career planning and personnel system, and notes about financial reimbursement.
Du Lunfang, the Deputy Dean of the Marxist Institute; Zhang Li, teacher of the Ideological and Political Theory Course; Wang Dawei from the School of Biology and Pharmaceutical Engineering; Qi Hongfang, the Deputy Dean of the Intelligent Manufacturing College; the Dean Assistant of the Art Design and Media College, Zhang Tianjie, respectively interpreted how to "teach and solve doubts" from different aspects such as disciplines, teaching methods and presenting methods.
During the training, Yang Yi and Zhou Wenwen from “Chaoxing” teaching team; Wang Xumei and Fu Yuan from the “BOPPPS” teaching team; Wang Fang and Wen Juan from “Rain Classroom” teaching team, also carried out various workshops on different subjects, and shared their work experience and teaching skills with the new teachers.
Liang Shenglin and Fu Jinxin from the Sports Institute organized a team expansion activity. Through various challenges, teachers' team spirit and sense of collective and responsibility were enhanced, and they fully felt the importance of team communication and cooperation, rational allocation of resources and strict self-restraint.
On the afternoon of September 3rd, Du Hui, Executive Vice President, gave a lecture on "Delivering professional quality and presenting personal charm". He explained speech structure, speech strategy, speech logic, data expression method, and posture and guidance. His clear logic, elegant manner and moderate rhythm gave the teachers a deep impression.
In the course of training, Liu Meiyun stressed that as teachers, we should establish the concept of lifelong learning, continuously improve our professional knowledge and humanistic quality, and actively carry out teaching research, so that teaching and scientific research can promote each other so as to achieve long-term development.
At the end of the training, the teachers all said that two weeks’ training was fruitful. Through training, teachers deepened the understanding of the school and the profession. The training was efficient and everyone could feel the sense of belonging and they will work hard to contribute to the school.
