In order to celebrate the Double Festival of Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, enrich the school life of students and enhance the artistic appreciation ability of students, the school has launched a series of activities for all teachers and students since September 30. During the National Day holiday, ten wonderful artistic activities including the Mid-Autumn Festival, Mid-Autumn Painting Appreciation and Mid-Autumn Music Appreciation were staged. Students can sign up for their favorite activity through their mobile phone. The activities are organized by the Academic Affairs Department, the Education Center, the Art Design and Media College, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Academy, the Experimental Center of the Art Design and Media College, the Huaxia Mark, the Crew from the Course of Chinese Classics, the Crew from the Course of Music Knowledge and Appreciation etc.
In the evening of September 30th, Autumn Poetry, held in Chuangke Plaza, attracted many students. The host, Ms. Wang Lili, fascinate the viewers by comparing of the "Tang Poetry” and “Song Ci". An atmosphere of joy dominated the plaza. The participants dressed in Han-style costumes chanted the classic poems "Water Tune Song" and "Autumn Wind" or rewrote "Jiang Jiangzi" under the theme of “Appreciation the Moon at Huaxia University”, a traditional way to show the beauty of poetry and spread the culture of poetry. Wu Hui from the Civil Engineering College said excitedly: “I love Chinese poetry since I was a child. Although I could not reunite with my family this year, I can recite the classics and appreciate the classics with my teachers and fellow students. My heart has already been filled with joy."
In the "Taste of Tea Art" exchange activity held at the Alumni House at 10 am on October 1, Zeng Dahai, a tea expert, was invited to give lectures on tea and how to make tea to teachers and students on the spot, tasting tea and discussing tea art. "Shennong tastes a hundred herbs, meets 72 poisons every day, and gets rid of it." Zeng Dahai introduced the historical origin of tea by telling the story of Shennong or Farmer God, the ancient tea-horse road, and Buddhism, and shared the origin of evolution the word "tea" with everyone through the tea ceremony display, "Dividing tea with color", "Six gentlemen of tea ceremony", "Eight steps of tea ceremony", etc.
At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the Mid-Autumn Festival calligraphy and painting appreciation activity was held in the Maker Cultural Plaza. "Workers must first sharpen their tools if they want to be good at their work." The lecturer Zhang Peijie introduced the intricate craftsmanship of the four treasures of the study by demonstrating the fine production process of a wolf pen. The teachers and students present were all amazed at the high requirements and exquisite production of calligraphy tools. In order to let teachers and students feel the charm of calligraphy up close, during the event, there were interspersed activities such as award-winning Q&A, calligraphy display, and on-site creation. Event participants can receive exquisite bookmarks created by members of the Calligraphy Association.
At 7 o'clock in the evening, a special Mid-Autumn Festival Music Appreciation Party slowly kicked off with piano music played by Teacher Li Kai. The music appreciation meeting consists of two parts: group presentation and chorus lesson. At the beginning of the event, seven groups took turns to perform on stage, and the live cheers were endless. Subsequently, Li Kai used the familiar national anthem "March of the Volunteers" as an example to introduce music theory in terms of pronunciation and rhythm grasping to help students feel the rhythm and power and experience the artistic and cultural conception of music.
In the next few days, the students were exposed to unique cloisonne craft paintings, fine leather production, interesting photography, paper-cutting activities, silk-screen printing, etc. Not only were they influenced by different art forms, but also experienced fun. Zhou Jing, a student of Accounting Class 1196 who participated in the cloisonne craft painting experience activity, said that the activity not only gave her an understanding of traditional arts and crafts, but also inspired her. She hope that the school will make more such opportunities in the future so that everyone can experience more.
Hu Chunfu, director of the General Education Center, said that the series of general education salon activities create a general cultural atmosphere, enrich students' second classroom and vacation life, allowing students to feel the emotion of the poet and the beauty of the scenery in chanting the poems, feel life in the tea, appreciate the calligraphy between the lines, send wishes to our country in singing the song, feel the power of culture, and appreciate the charm of inheritance and the greatness of creation in the experience of aesthetic education.
